Embrace Life: Always wear your seatbelt!

Some time ago, I watched the video above on another blog and was very impressed by the creativity of the production as well as the seriousness of the message. After watching it several times and showing it to my husband and daughters, I started thinking about some spiritual lessons we can draw from it.

Every day of our lives in this world is a journey. When we leave home in the morning, we don't know what we'll face, so it's extremely important not to leave without our (spiritual) seatbelt. And what would this seatbelt be? Communion with God.

Only God can guarantee our safety even when we face accidents (problems) in our daily lives. And accidents will surely come, for the world is still subject to the enemy. But if our lives are in God's hands through continuous communion with Him, we will avoid many of these “accidents” and know how to deal with those that couldn't be avoided.

It's interesting how the image of the family is used in this video, and we can also draw some lessons from that. The father in each family should be the spiritual leader, but the enemy has done everything to prevent him from taking on that role. Often, we mothers criticize them and demand this from them, but on the other hand, we forget to encourage and help them.

The success of the family in the Christian journey doesn't depend solely on the father, but on each of its members, working together and seeking strength in God. When one family member has an 'accident,' the whole family suffers, which is why everyone is responsible for their safety, including spiritual safety.

As you watch and share this short video, remember to put on your seatbelt every day before leaving home, seeking God's presence each morning before starting your journey.
