This is one of those texts I simply had to share. It's so obvious, so true, yet we don't always remember these strengthening truths.

Victory isn't about resisting temptation until we've strengthened our spiritual muscle enough to defeat it in an arm wrestle.

Victory is about disarming temptation before it even begins.

Let's go back.

Satan deceived the angels not by leading them to recognize the viability of evil, but by offering them an imitation of good.

He entered the garden and offered Eve freedom when she was already free.

He offers us love, [happiness, peace, satisfaction…] when in fact, we are already loved.

The fundamental principle of evil is to “question the sufficiency of the genuine.”

This is the great conflict in one sentence.

And that is the science of temptation.

First, making you question what is real, and then offering a supposedly viable alternative.

That's why faith makes us righteous (have you heard of Justification by Faith?) and free.

When the child of God believes that all promises are “Yes, and Amen!”

When he believes that every word of God is creative – as creative as “Let there be light.”

And that the promises are not stored in Heaven for our help someday, but are already in our pocket.

Already at work in the lives of those who believe them…

Then the fundamental principle of temptation is shattered.

Temptation is neutralized before it even takes hold…

Exposed as a frayed fabric.

When we believe (with our heart, not just with our mind) the promise is sufficient,

Temptation suddenly becomes absolutely insufficient.

You have a million dollars in your pocket. Why are you failing for the enemy's penny?

Just because you think you are poor.
